Patong (Phuket) (Thailand)

Hello from Patong!
From a single men's paradise   :D

First thing I would like to mention that is our second visit here and again we had a bit different experience than first time...This actually the place where we started our holidays in Thailand last year . But let's start from beginning...
So, the trip from Phi Phi wasn't so long , just 1 hour by ferry and and 1 hour by minibus to the place that we stayed. We paid for it  400 baht (£7) per person and really didn't need to worry about transportation from door to door. We suppose to stay in the same place like last year, but we found cheaper and far more better place  called Baan Ketkeaw for 900 baht (£16) per night. The place was very nice compare to what we had in Phi Phi. It had furniture , nice big king size bed , balcony , fridge, air con and etc.

We walked around the town , mainly visiting the same places that we been before , famous Bangla road which is famous for its night life, bars and 'easy' girls , ladyboys and massages with happy ending...Then beach , markets and shopping mall. First thing what we noticed there is that Patong looked like occupied by Russian tourists... Most of the hotels, restaurants and shops had info and menus in Russian and when you walking on the street you just fell like you somewhere in Russia , because everywhere around you can hear Russian language. The other things that we noticed , that its much more overcrowded than last year , there is basically no free space on the beach and again water is not that good in the evenings , because of all those water sport stations every 50 meters. The best time to enjoy the beach I guess would be in the early morning .
I did had a mild food poisoning on  one of the days in there , but nothing serious , just good advice to be careful with the street food, use your common sense to judge is it safe or not. So instead street food we found really nice and cheap restaurant just near by Bangla road in PS Hotel. I recommend that place to everyone who will go there , since we eat there everyday. Also I would recommend one amazingly cheap T-shirt shop that we found on the north side of the town just near by police station ! Prices are the lowest in town and you can get funny t-shirt or a souvenir's  for as little as 100 baht (£2) !

Also one of the reasons why we visited this place is to meet up with my friends from London , just for a couple days before we go up to north Thailand. We relax on the beach by renting plastic chairs with umbrella for 100 baht (£2) for whole day and you can get anything just by laying on the beach from cold drinks to souvenirs from what i call 'walking shops',people who carrying mountains of stuff on them self in the middle of the heat and offering it to the tourists. Then all of us bought this funny t-shirts SAME SAME BUT DIFFERENT !

Basically the story of it, that this became really popular phrase in Thailand , because of two things. First -Thai people likes to repeat words twice  and second - they try to sell fake staff by using this phrase ! Believe me , we had so much fun with those t-shirts ! LOL. After we went to do some cheap shopping in Phuket Town weekend market which is one of the biggest weekend markets in Thailand. Then again next day relaxed on the beach by catching up some sun,walked around Bangla road and had a nice evening by the beach with the few drinks,had a nice laugh and chat until late. It was really nice to see dudes after a while . But its time to get on the round again!

Linkėjimai iš Pa-tong, Phuketo. Iš Koh Phi Phi čia atvažiuoti labai lengva, nes dažniausiai visur jau suorganizuota kelionė keltu ir nuvežimas iki viešbučio, todėl nereikia rūpintis pačiam. Kainavo nei daug nei mažai £7/30lt., žmogui.
Phuket pusiasalis yra pakankamai didelis, todėl apsistoti vietų tikrai nemažai. Pats Phuket miestas tai labiau biznio miestas kur nelabai kažką nuveiksi, išskyrus savaitgalinis turgus, kuriame galima apsipirkti pigiausiai (nekalbant apie Bankoką). Ten galima nuvažiuoti apsistojus ir kitoje vietoje, tiesiog su taxi.
Jeigu norite ramesnių atostogų tai tinka netoli Karon ir Kata paplūdymių, o jei patinka naktinis gyvenimas ir esate ištroškę linksmybių tada verta apsistoti Pa tong mieste. Čia gyvenimas tiesiog verda ir galima gauti visko; nuo pigių apsipirkinėjimo vietų, įvairių suvenyrų iki striptizų baru, transvestitų ar net masažų su "laiminga pabaiga". Kaip vienas žmogus pasakė tikras "gyvatynas":D
Bet būtent šitam mieste mes ir apsistojome. Pirmiausia todėl, kad mūsų keliai susikirto būtent čia su atostogaujančiais draugais ir labai norėjom susimatyt. Smagu yra kažką pažįstamo sutikti toli nuo namų;), o antra kad tai jau buvo mums pažįstama vieta, nes praeitais metais nuo čia pradėjome savo kelionę. Kai buvom pirmą kartą pamatėm miestą labiau iš gerosios pusės, nes apsistojom trumpam, darėm ekskursijas aplink salas, o šįkart visą laiką praleidome mieste, tinginiaudami ir vaikščiodami aplink, tai pastebėjom ir minusus.
Viešbutį išsirinkom toliau nuo visų linksmybių centro nes reikejo išsimiegot, apsistojome Baan Ketkeaw £16/65lt., per naktį dvivietis didelis patogus ir švarus kamabrys dviem žmonėms.
Truputį nuvylė per didelis turistų kiekis, paplūdymyje tiek žmonių, kiek karštą vasaros dieną Palangoje. Tik čia gerai tas, kad galima išsinuomot gultą su skėčiu visai dienai tik už £2/8lt., ir tiesiog mėgautis. Pasekoje to, kad labai daug turistų ir aktyviai naudojamas vandens sporto atrakcijos, vanduo labai drumzlinas ir nešvarus. Patartina į palūdymį eiti iš ankstaus ryto kai vanduo dar skaidrus ir miela maudytis, o po pietų užsiimti kita veikla.
Lankantis Phukete rekomenduojam pasiimti 8 salų kelionę vienai dienai į kurią įeina James Bond sala, musulmonų kaimelis ant vandens ir kitos mažos salytės su nuostabiais paplūdymiais. Jei patinka perlai ar sau ar lauktuvėms tai geriausiai galima nusidėrėti james bond saloje, tikri gausite papuošalus su perlais už labai gerą kainą;) Yra dar daug įvairių organizuojamų ekskursijų, bet priklauso ką norite pamatyti ir kiek sau galite leisti, nes jos mano nuomone, kainuoja pakankamai nemažai (8salos apie 100lt., žm.).
Bangla road yra pagrindinė atrakcija šiame mieste, kur pilna barų ir merginų, žodžiu vienišų vaikinų rojus ;D
Kadangi draugai buvo kątik atvažiavę ir norėjo tiesiog atsipalaiduoti ir nieko neveikti po darbų, todėl nusprendėm nieko neveikti ir mes, o tiesiog patinginiauti paplūdymy. Pagaliau pajaučiau atostogas ir aš;) taip ir nebuvo laiko atsipalaiduot, nes mes daugiau keliaujame, o ne atostogaujame. Patikėkit tai du skirtingi dalykai, bet abu malonūs;))
Paplūdymys čia kaip vaikščiojantis prekybos centras, gali gauti visko ko nori; maisto, gėrimų, suvenyrų, drabužių, namų apyvokos daiktų, kosmetikos, žodžiu ko tik širdis geidžia. Čia tau ne Palanga kai tik ledai, alus ir karšti čeburėkai;D
Kadangi jie čia pardavinėja vardinius daiktus tik aišku netikrus tai visada sako kad jo jo čia toks pats (same same) tik tuputį kitoks, netikras (but different). Ir jie kartoja viską du kartus tai mes pamatę nusipirkom visi vienodas maikutes su šia fraze. Tai sulaukėm daug dėmesio ir turėjom nemažai juoko ir diena prabėgo labai smagiai, nes visi pamatę frazę kurią patys kartoja pardavinėdami daiktus patys juoktis pradeda.
Taip pat apsiprekinom Phuket town savaitgalio turguje ir atsisveikinimui su draugais vakarą praleidome paplūdymyje plepant ir žiūrint fejerverkus. Kaip graži filmo pabaiga ir labai linksmai praleistas laikas. Tai kas į susitikimą su mumis kitoje šalyje?;)

Ko Phi Phi island (Thailand)

Hey guys! Greetings from Ko Phi Phi!

So...here we are at famous Ko Phi Phi island ! We got there by boat from Ko Lanta ,witch didn't took long , just a bit more than 1h. Tickets cost us 250 baht (£5) per person.
We came here with very positive vibe from last year holidays , but this year a lot of staff was just not the same anymore ...
First thing we did big mistake by booking guest house in the middle of Phi Phi party area...We stayed in October guest house for 650 baht (£12) per night and it was the cheapest we could get for this busy period of the year. We where very disappointed with the room, it was very dusty and not clean...the net on the windows had holes everywhere so we had plenty not really friendly mosquitoes ...and on the top of that we couldn't sleep almost all night , because there was  all beach parties and bars around our area  open until morning ...and when we about to fell asleep in the morning , then all the shops start opening and all the construction sites start there noisy work ... So that means , no sleep for us in Ko Phi Phi ! Lol.
The main beach was not nice at all this time, dirty and turbid, compare what we seen last year, but locals told as its because of the fool moon period...so I guess we were just unlucky this time in Ko Phi Phi .

But not everything was so negative , there was still nice places to see and fun staff to do ! We did hiking to the best view point of the island , which we didn't do last year . It was really great , if you ever go there you can't miss it! We also went on the beach party and watched fire show and daytime mostly walk around , relax at the beach and catch up some sleep.
As everybody knows the island got very famous because of the movie 'Beach' in 2001, so since then it become one of the most tourist visited island in Thailand. There is plenty cheap tours around Ko Phi Phi including the famous Maya Bay. It cost just 550 baht (£11) per person for whole day trip which you have to do it if you there. Because everything else is overpriced in Ko Phi Phi comparing with the other places in Thailand.

The only big problem is that island overcrowded by tourists in this time of the year and they don't respect the nature by littering everywhere . All those construction sites all over the island which building new hotels , destroying the islands beauty . Its shame that such a beautiful place I been so far, destroyed by tourists and there needs. :(
Overall its been completely different experience with what we had last year. I just want to ask everyone who will go there show more respect to the island and there people.
And I guess that all about Ko Phi Phi...

Štai mes jau ir Koh Phi Phi saloje. Užtrukome tik 1val su keltu, galite tuom patikėti ;)? Po visų ilgų kelionių tik valanda. Super!!!
Kaip jau minėjau Koh Lantoj keltas buvo tik porą minučių kelio, tad nereikėjo nei taxi, o phi phi transporto priemonių išvis nėra (išskyrus dviratį bei vežimą prekėms vežti) tai mūsų kelionė apsiėjo pigiai, kainavo tik £5/20lt., asmeniui.
Tai jau antras apsilankymas šitoje saloje. Praeitais metais apsistojome vienai nakčiai bambukų nameliuose, toliau nuo viso veiksmo. Ši sala padarė labai didelį įspūdį pirmą kartą, todėl šį kartą nusprendėme apsistoti ilgeniam laikui 4 naktims ir labiau centre, kad nereiktų vėl lipt į kokį kalną kaip praeitą kartą. Suklydome...
Apsistojome October svečių namuose, kaina nakčiai apie £12/50lt., pačiame salos centre netoli paplūdymio ir naktinio gyvenimo sukūrio.
Kabarys šiaip sau, vien tas gerai kad buvo balkonas, apsauginis tinklelis nuo uodų suplyšes, tad naktį mus tiesiog "valgė". Antras dalykas, muzika groja iki paryčių tai miegoti visvien negali, o kai muzika nustoja pradeda atsidarinėt parduotuvės su dideliais triukšmais. Galima sakyti, kad keturios bemiegės naktys. Tikrai rekomenduoju apsistoti truputį toliau nuo linksmybių centro nors ir esate linksmybių mėgėjai, nes viskas ar taip ar taip pasiekiama pėsčiomis.
Ši sala išpopuliarėjo po filmo "Papūdymys" su Leonardu Dicaprio dėl savo nuostabios gamtos. Pirmą kartą lankantis čia yra ką pamatyti. Visų pirma tai ekskursija į Maja paplūdymį ir aplinkines salytes, kainuos tik apie £11/45lt žmogui, bet tuo metu jau būna labai daug žmonių ten, todėl kas gali sau leisti rekomenduojam pasiimti atskirą valtį-taxi ir važiuoti anksti ryte pamatyti tikrąjį grožį. Dar yra truputį varginantis pasivaiksčiojas į apžvalgos tašką, užtrunka apie 30min., pėsčiomis nes kitaip neįmanoma, bet tikrai verta pamatyti tokį vaizdą. Iš aukštai atsiveriantis salos vaizdas nepakartojamas.
Labiausiai kas nuvylė tai nešvarus, drumzlinas vanduo. Saloje yra tiek daug valčių, kurios daro ekskursijas, privatčios valtys-taxi ar vandens sportas, tai vanduo nuo kuro pilnas nuosėdų ir kt. Taip pat labai didelė nešvara, pilna šiukšlių, per daug turistų tokioje mažoje salytėje, o dar stato naujus viešbučius. Kas buvo prieš dešimt metų ir dabar nepalyginsi, sugadinta sala, nors aišku vieną kartą aplankyti kai esi Tailande rekomenduoju, bet pilnai užtenka dviejų dienų ten viską pamatyti.
Apibendrinant galiu pasakyti, kad ir nepataikėm šį kartą išsirinkt viešbučio, bet radom vistiek veiklos ir įdomių vietelių šioj saloj. O dabar vykstam į Phuketą.

Ko Lanta (Thailand)

Sa-wat-dee from Ko Lanta!

This time we didn't need to travel far, just 3h journey by minibus and two car ferries which cost us 250 baht (£5) per person. We stayed in a small fishermen's town Saladan , just by the port . Our guest house Baan Korokad was typical fishermen's house built on the water . Room wasn't so good that  we expected, the worst so far , we felt like we somewhere in the village visiting grandmother. :) Rest of the guest house was nice, it was good restaurant and perfect relaxing area. We paid for it just 265 baht ( about £5 ) per night.

Saladan town it self is small and had this kind of relaxing atmosphere. Plenty shops and markets everywhere and you can reach everything in walking distance . So one whole day we just spend walking around, talking with the locals and just relaxing :)

We found this amazingly cute and warm coffee shop near our guest house called "Not A Toy". If you ever will be visiting Ko Lanta you have to have a cup of coffee or tea there, you will be surprised how long you can enjoy your hot drink there  , when you surrounded by local artist hand made works of art and this cool , relaxing atmosphere.

The main reason we came to Ko Lanta, because its not so crowded by tourists yet and it has nice untouched nature and beautiful quiet beaches. So once again we rented scooter for 200 baht (£4) a day. We went around to see all those beautiful beaches and we found them really natural , some of them even not ready to make a post card if you know what I mean... One of the beach I found very similar to what I got use to by spending summers near a Baltic sea surrounded with all those really nice smelling pine trees. We also visited National Ko Lanta park, there we had to pay entrance fee 200 baht (£4) per person, but now I understand why. All area clean , there are free toilets and showers , beautiful beach , small little island with lighthouse and wild cheeky monkeys and also you can to track all around the area in the forest and find there all sorts of plants , bugs and etc. Very nice place to spend all day. Even there is entrance fee I still recommend to visit it.

 On the way to guest house we found this local small restaurant made out of bamboo with amazing view , so we decided to stop there for dinner. First thing what surprised us there was just maybe 3 old ladies about 70 years old or so that were running this small place , we had trouble ordering , because none of them understood English , but finally we ordered and we were really pleased with the food ! It was kind of funny and unique experience but I loved every bit of it. Well done grannies, that's the way to run the business. LOL.

And that would be all about Ko Lanta . It really left just positive vibe ,two best things I liked about island is all that beautiful nature and that is still not so overcrowded by tourists.
Next stop famous Ko Phi Phi island !

Sveiki mielieji,

Siunčiu saulės spinduliukus iš Ko Lantos. Ši sala yra 80km nuo Krabi tik apie 3 val., kelio, bet viskas užtrunka todėl, kad reikia persikelti su dviem keltukais ir laukimas eilėje užima laiką. Mūsų kelionė iš Krabi į Ko Lanta su autobusiuku (mikriuku liaudiškai tariant) kainavo £5/20lt., žmogui, taip pat galima keltis su keltu, kuris kainuoja truputį brangiau ir užtrunka maždaug tiek pat.
Apsistojome pagrindiniame uosto miestelyje Saladan, svečių namuose Baan Korokad praktiškai 2 min., iki kelto. Nakvynė apie £10/40lt už kambarį. Šie svečių namai kaip ir dauguma namukų pastatyti tiesiog ant vandens, tad naktį galima girdėti kaip teliūškuoja vanduo į krantą. Kambarys nieko gero, nors ne tam atvažiavom, kad kambaryje laiką praleist, o tik permiegoti, bet restoranas su gražiu vaizdu į upę ir geru maistu, ir pagaliau gavau normalios kavos (kaip jie sako fresh coffee), o ne tik nescafe 3in1. Taip pat labai smagi atsipalaidavimui vietelė, kur galima paskaityti, pažaisti kortom ar tiesiog pagulėt.
Dėl šios salos dar buvo abejonių ar važiuoti ar ne, todėl kad turime tik mėnesį, o tiek daug gražių vietų yra pamatyti. Iš anksto galiu pasakyti, kad neapsirikome. Labai džiaugiamės, kad pasirinkome būtent čia atvažiuoti, nes tai yra ko mes labiausiai norėjome. Maži miesteliai, mažai turistų (palyginus su kitomis vietomis Tailande), daug gamtos, nuostabūs paplūdymiai, ramybė.
Kaip jau nekeista išsinuomojom motorolerį kaip ir visur apie 16lt. parai, benzinas apie 10lt. visai dienai, ir leki su vėjeliu ;)). Aplankėm visus paplūdymius, vienas labai priminė lietuvišką su daug pušų, kitas atrodo dar nepaliestas, laukinis ar kažkur užslėptas su atsiveriančiais nuostabiais vaizdais. Aplankėme nacionalinį parką (įėjimas £4/16lt), ten yra salytė su švyturiu, gražus ir tvarkintas parkas, daug išdykusių beždžionėlių, kurios vagia viską jei tik minutėlei nusisuksi, paplūdymys kur galima atsipalaiduoti ir netgi yra stovyklavietė kur galima pasilikti nakvynei.
Saladan miestelis yra ramus su daug jaukių, atsiveriančiais gražiais vaizdais restoranų, taip pat pilna vietų apsipirkinėjimams ir neblogu paplūdymiu pasivaikščiojimams. Čia atradome labai idomią kavinukę "Its not a toy", labai jauki ir kas mėgsta gerą kavą ar arbatą tikrai verta apsilankyti, skanesnės kavos Tailande dar neragavau ir labai subtiliai patiekta tikra žalia arbata.
Ko Lanta paliko didelį įspūdį mums, nes ko ieškojome, tą ir gavome. Viena iš ramių ir jaukių vietų kur norėtųsi vėl sugrįžti, kai norėsis ramybės ir gero poilsio. Iki pasimatymo Ko Phi Phi saloje.
